Hey Carsten. Egad! Now I feel a bit embarrassed that I drifted out of my Neil Young mood and haven't returned to that post to complete it. But thanks for opening up a further flood of memory - driving to Kuzmas (no apostrophe either) in your white Golf, after a Lansdowne Local meeting, me (scotch) against you and Joy (bourbon or JD). And what was the soundtrack? In my mind it was BloodSugarSexMagik. I think it had just come out and via both your and Joy's continual playing of it, it, forcibly, became a favourite album to me as well.

But you know me and my austere focus. I have latched onto Mr Waits's 'The Heart of Saturday Night' because I can't do his paired-down stuff, where he tries too much to sound like or outdo Nick Cave (LOL).

I organised my music on computer recently and also tore my hair out trying to decide where to put Mr Waits. After three or four changes, I decided on 'folk', even if my favourite Waits album is rather jazzy in an accesibale way. Can't really say why. Perhaps I am broadening the definition of 'folk'. Perhaps it has to do with the lyrical poetry based around ordinary experience, even if urban and gritty.

Recent re-discoveries: Redhouse Painters, Camper van Beethoven, Carmel. But Waits is now on the platter...

Take care.
